Hey Family,
I told you that I would write you a letter, so here it is. I'm loving where I'm serving right now. It's awesome here. Like I've said before, it's way ghetto but it's really fun. We have about 15 solid people who we are teaching right now and quite a few are close to baptism. Time here has been flying. Doesn't it seem like I just barely went to the MTC. It's crazy.
We live with the Spanish Elders for this area and they both go home really soon. One is done in 2 1/2 weeks and the other goes home in 9 weeks. It's strange being around missionaries who are going home. I almost feel bad for them. They have to go back home to all the worries and stress of real life. We have it easy out here. Plus we've all gotten weird. They have to go home and be all awkward, while I get 10 more months before I have to deal with that. At times I do miss home, but I'm also scared about going back to real life. Luckily I have 10 months to get over it. I heard from my friend Vaughn and he goes home December 28. He is also scared.
But enough about going home. The work in this area is booming. We have four baptismal dates right now with more on the way. We are teaching a guy named Morgan right now and he is way cool. He's really into sports and he's super sarcastic. He's my favorite to teach right now. He goes to UNM and he's getting his masters in like Sports Management or something. He wants to be an Athletic Director at a college or high school some where, so we get along pretty well.
Most of the other people we teach are crazy though. We teach one lady who always talk about how her neighbors are robbing her, even though it's not true. We teach a guy who has never read the Book of Mormon but he knows it's true and he knows everything about it. Plus he has these other crazy ideas like the Catholics are the ones who crucified Jesus etc. There's another one who still lives with her boyfriend (who she can't even talk to because he speaks Spanish and she doesn't) even though she had a dream about the Book of Mormon and how it is true. So those are some of the people we teach right now. Pretty cool huh!?!
We don't only teach crazy people though. There are a lot of really great people here. I'm enjoying myself. I'm even starting to have more patience with my companion, so everything is good.
I love you guys! Thank you for everything. The Church is true. 10 more months!
